UNDERSHUTE, Maxine Anne
April 26, 1941 – June 15, 2018
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Maxine (nee Demsey), after a brief and intense battle with cancer.
Maxine is survived by her four children: Leanne (David), Brian (Heidi), Ross and Scott. She will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren: Camryn, Hannah, Avarey, Lauren, Owen and Coleman. Maxine is also survived by her brother Richard (Barb) Wilkins and her aunt Rose (Clarence) McDougall and predeceased by her husband Jerry, her father Harry, her mother Helen and grandparents John and Helen. Maxine had many friends over the years, that provided love, support and years of fun. She will be dearly missed by her Manitoba “sister”, the “Lupper” gals, the Mission Street Gang and many other friends she met over the years.
Maxine was a talented cake decorator, baker and crafter with a wonderful sense of humour. Over the last 40+ years, many families in the Sherwood Park area were recipients of one of her famous cakes. Her grandchildren will miss her love and devotion and they will also miss making gingerbread houses with her every December and enjoying her baking. Maxine was a very hard working, feisty, loyal and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. Everyone is heartbroken over her untimely passing.
The family would like to thank Dr. Debenham from the Cross Cancer Institute, all the compassionate and caring nurses and doctors who work at Unit 43 of the Grey Nuns Hospital, the team at the Edmonton Zone Palliative Care Program, Strathcona County Home Care and a special thanks to Dr. Robert Daniels of Sherwood Park for over 20 years of care and caring.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2:00pm at Glenwood Funeral Home 52356 Range Road 232 Sherwood Park, AB. Internment will happen at a later date.
