Mary Pearl Gibbon
1942-2018
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mary Pearl Gibbon
announces her passing on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Oromocto
Public Hospital.
Born February 9, 1942 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter
of the late Douglas and Mary (Forgey) Cormier and the loving wife of
the late Leonard Addison Gibbon.
Mary was well known in the community as “Mama G”.
She was feisty and a little spitfire. She had the best sense of humour
and loved to make everyone laugh. Mary was always acting a fool and
loved life. Everyone loved her for it.
Mary loved spending time with her family and seeing her
friends. Special thanks go out to Mum’s favorite nurse
Rosanne Thomson. Mom loved her “Rosie”.
Mary is survived by her three children, Douglas and his wife
Lori Ramsay, Lisa and her husband Raymond Goodine, and Jeff and his
wife Anita Allinson-Gibbon. She adored her grandchildren Brett Smith
(Jodi Coy), Sierra Smith, Ty Gibbon, Jade Gibbon and great grandson
Zane. Mary also loved her step-grandchildren Ashley and Robyn Carr,
and Billy and Raelene Goodine; her sisters Shirley Hansen, Janet
McMillan and Bonnie Snodgrass.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased
by siblings Carol Danells and Douglas Cormier.
There will be a gathering for friends and family at Shirley
and Ralph Hansen’s home, on 3 Dobson Lane, Rothesay, NB on
Saturday, April 14 from 1-4 pm. Family and friends are also invited to
the Upper Gagetown Lions Club to share stories of Mary on Sunday April
15 from 1-4 pm. Donations in Mary’s memory can be made to
the New Brunswick Lung Association.
