It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Marlene Catherine Wirtanen, age 67, beloved wife of Maxwell Wirtanen, on Friday, September 14th, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born on September 8, 1951 in Campbellton, she was the dauther of the late Lester (Bud) Dow and Irene (Ditty) Dow.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 47 years, Maxwell, daughter Brandi Furlotte (Derek), son Cory, grandchildren Kailyn, Michael and Connor, and brother William Dow (Denise).
Marlene was a kind and loving wife and was loved by anyone who had the chance to meet her. She had a generous heart and loved her grandchildren like no other. She loved
spending time with her friends and family. She was a member of the United Church Choir and Chaleur Echoes for many years and had a voice like an angel.
The family would like to expresses special thanks to Dr. Love and Dr. Hemings and nurses for her excellent care in the palliative care unit and the nurses of 5C South at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Campbellton with interment in the Campbellton Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA and the Canadian Cancer Society.
