Marjorie Winnifred Eisan
EISAN, Marjorie Winnifred (Brown) – Waverley. It is with heavy hearts and sadness, that we announce the passing of our Mum, Marjorie of Porto Bello. She was 91 years young and passed away peacefully on July 2nd, 2018, surrounded her family. She was born in Conn Mills and grew up in Pugwash Junction, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Vanbuskirk) Brown. Predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Stanley and her son Harris, sister Mary Langille, brothers Norman, Charles and Gilbert Brown.Marjorie is survived by her loving children; Clarence (Portobello), daughter-in-law Susan (Slave Lake, Alberta), Julie (Danny) Hiltz (Ship Harbour), David (Debbie) (Porto Bello), and Virginia “Ginny” (Eastern Passage). Many joys arrived when her grandchildren; Jodi (Corey) Papp, Joel Eisan, Josh Eisan, Cathy (Terry) Eisan-McPhee, Diana (Glen) Campbell, Robert Hiltz and Gregory Hiltz, entered her life. Many more blessings came along with her great grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Dax, Faith, Cooper, Tristan, Reese, Mya and Emily. She received her education at the Margaret King School in Pugwash Junction, Sydney Academy and later in life the Nova Scotia Department of Tourism. In the early years she taught school at Brookside NS, then in Ship Harbour. Marjorie loved raising their family. She also loved many types of music, especially Daniel O’Donnell. She had many hobbies including sewing and knitting. Mum made many Nova Scotia tartan blankets and pillow sets for all her family and special friends. However, the hobby that brought her the greatest joy was travelling to visit family and friends near and far.
She was a member of the “Friends of the Margaret King School Society”, contributing to making books on the history of the school and its founder. We wish to thank all the nurses and doctors on 4 West and the ER staff at Dartmouth General Hospital for their kindness and compassion. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and visitation will be held at the Cole Harbour Funeral Home, 1234 Cole Harbour Road on Friday July 6th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral will be held on Saturday July 7th at 11:00, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 650 West Ship Harbour Road, Ship Harbour, and will be officiated by Reverend Andrew Mortimer.
