Lovingly Remembered
WELLWOOD Marie Mildred Wellwood (ne: Kibble) (98) passed away peacefully on July 9th.
Marie, the daughter of Sidney and Frances (Jenkins) was born and raised in (Sandwich) Windsor, Ontario. In 1949 Maire married Major John Arthur Wellwood in Windsor.
In addition to her professional pursuits with CKLW Radio, Comptroller with Lou Bendo Realty, Product Co-ordinator and Stylist for Beauty Counsellors, Marie was much in demand as a soloist throughout the Windsor area and had performed with many organizations including the Windsor Light Opera. Marie’s community involvements included several years as an Ambassador of Tourism for The City of Windsor and as a Board Member of Iona College. Marie was well known as a fashion commentator. As a photographer, Marie has participated in many Art Exhibitions throughout the Windsor area and has gained recognition for her skillful use of light and shadows. Marie had been a member of the I.O.D.E., the Pilot Club of Windsor and the Questers and was programme co-ordinator for the Riverside United Happy Gang.
Marie (Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother) will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her son Bevin (Angela) grandchildren Derek, Christopher-Robin (Cheryl) and Erin; Great Grand children; Spencer, Sydney, Ella, Madyson. Marie was predeceased by John in 1966 and her brothers Bernard in 1999 and George in 2009.
A Memorial Service will be held for Marie at St. Andrew’s Church, Pickering Village (Ajax) on August 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. proceeded by visitation at 10:00 a.m.
If wished, remembrances may be sent to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice.
