Margaret Olive Una MULLALY

Margaret was born October 22, 1919 at Montmarte, Saskatchewan as the youngest of ten children to parents Charles and Margaret Scott.
During the depression, her family relocated to Northern Saskatchewan where she met the love of her life, Wilson Mullaly. They married in 1937 and resided in the Pierceland, Saskatchewan region for the next seven years before deciding to come to British Columbia in search of a better life. They arrived by train in Armstrong in late April of 1944. They made Lumby their home for a few years but ended up settling back in Vernon, where their family grew from three children to six children.
It was a challenge to find gainful employment but they always managed to have a home and food to eat. Margaret was very thrifty and believed in the old adage “Waste not, want not.” She worked in several restaurants, even going on to work for the CPR and CNR work crews. She was often very busy but always found time for her family and friends, and she loved to have company come for dinner.
After she retired, Margaret continued to entertain others, taking care of her home on her own for many years. After Wilson passed, she chose to downsize to an apartment, but after one year she decided to move into assisted living at Creekside Manor where stayed for another 8 years. After several falls, Margaret went to Polson Extended Fintry North, where she succumbed peacefully on June 13, 2018.
