OBITUARY
Margaret G. Conrod
September 9, 1924 – December 17, 2018
CONROD, Margaret Gwendolyn (Johnston) – Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1924, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Castri) Johnston. Margaret studied music, played piano and was a former employee of Phinney’s music store. She was a member of the choir and ladies circle of First Baptist Church for many years. Her cats Mickey and Becky gave her tremendous joy. Margaret enjoyed travel and loved her garden. She was especially fond of her weekly lunches with “The Girls”. Margaret is survived by her nephews Jim Canty (Patricia) Dartmouth; Mark Canty (Meredith) Quispamsis, NB; Stan Johnston, NWT. Special thanks to kind and devoted friends Ralph and Carolyn O’Connell who she loved as family. She is predeceased by her husband, John Conrod, father Harold and mother Winnie Johnston, sisters, Beryl Johnston, Shirley Johnston, Mildred Canty, brother, Gerald Johnston. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street on Thursday, December 27th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Michael Mugford officiating.
