On Sunday, November 25 Margaret Anna Stretch (nee Lauer) was called home by our Lord at the age of 76 years. She is survived by her husband of 56 years John Stretch; children Chris Hahn (Terry), Diane Fair (Floyd), Sonya McClelland and Randy (Angela); 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers John Lauer (Liz), Joe Lauer (Dale) & Garry Lauer; and sister Bernie Martin. She is predeceased by parents John & Anna Lauer; parents in-law Floyd & Amy Stretch; brother Ralph Lauer; sister Rose Steblyk and son-in-law Dwayne McClelland. Marg was born in Dodsland, SK but has called Ponoka home since the age of 5. She was a familiar face working at VJV for 37 years. There are many fond memories of family dinners at the farm, bicycle rides and camping trips. She loved being involved with her grandchildren and was an active volunteer in both church and community. In 2015 Marg received the CWL Maple Leaf Service Award for her exceptional service.
A Prayer service and viewing will be held at Ponoka Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
