Mamerto Marcelino
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mamerto Marcelino announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer. Mamerto passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on January 6, 2018 at the age of 74.
Mamerto was born on August 12, 1943 in Ilocos Norte, Philippines where he met and married his wife Magdalena Getuiza Marcelino before immigrating to Canada in 1978.
He is survived by his loving wife; sons Ronnie (Kellyn) and Jun (Valerie); his treasured grandchildren Andrew, Avery, Ava, Merrick, Addison and Londyn; siblings Bitchie (Felomeno), Berbenio, Susan (Novelito) and Rodrigo (Estrella); niece Felybeth and grandsons Justin and Josef.
Mamerto was predeceased by his parents Felipe & Juanita and brother Manuel.
Mamerto loved baseball, enjoyed fishing, play pool and bingo. He enjoyed the company of his friends whether they’d be playing mahjong or cards or a simple get together. He will be remembered by his kindness, generosity, his contagious smile and laughter, and his sense of humor.
Viewing will be held from 6 PM to midnight on Thursday, January 11th and Friday, January 12th with a Prayer Vigil at 7 PM at Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North in Saskatoon. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 13th at 10 AM at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 720 Spadina Cres East. Rite of Committal to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1502 2nd Ave N.
