Magdalena Boire
1921 – 2018
Magdalena Boire (nee Kress) passed away peacefully at the Lampman Community Health Centre, Lampman, Sask. on Monday, October 15th, 2018 at the age of 97 years.
Mag was predeceased by her first husband Alexander Runge and her second husband Adelard Boire; her sons, Alexander Runge and Jack Runge; daughter-in-law Vivian Runge and grandson Mark Runge.
Magdelena is survived by her daughters, Marie Steinke (Meredith) and Shirley Roy (Jeff); daughter-in-law Eileen (Jack); 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Mag and Alex farmed near Odessa where they raised their four children. After Alex’s passing in 1965 Mag met and married the love of her life Adelard and moved to Lampman. Adelard’s family was a welcome addition to Maggie’s own.
Mag had a strong work ethic, was compassionate and loved her time working in the school and driving the bus. Mag would do anything for anyone and was loved by many. She had a great sense of humour and often gave advice; “My mouth works faster than my mind.”
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Estevan, Sask., by Rev. Sathiadas Antony. A time of fellowship and refreshments will take place in the parish auditorium immediately following the mass. Interment will take place at a later date at Holy Family Parish Cemetery, Odessa, Sask.
