OBITUARY
Lucille Rose Jansen
October 7, 1934 – September 25, 2018
Lucille Rose Jansen passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the age of 84 years.
Lucille, “Lu”, was born in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan where she attended Stobart School. The family moved to Rosthern, Saskatchewan where she finished her high school education and worked at the family café and it was in Rosthern where she met her future husband Oscar Jansen, “OJ”. Lu moved to Tisdale Saskatchewan where she worked for SaskTel as a telephone operator and in 1956 married Oscar in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Oscar’s work as a geologist took them to Estavan, Regina and Calgary where they lived and worked for close to 60 years. Lu worked as a librarian at Queen Elizabeth High School and Dr. Coffin Elementary in the 1970’s. Lu was a devoted mother to son Sean, loved to garden, entertain and decorate her home.
Lu is survived by granddaughters Ashley and Amber Jansen (Denver Colorado); brother Donald Malmer (Port Alberni); sister Sonja Davidson (Tisdale); nephews Bill (Trish) Fielkowich (Burnaby) and Scott (Vivian) Davidson (Regina); nieces Debbie (Ken) Runn (Nipawin) and Janice McCormack (Edmonton). She is predeceased by her sister Florence; son Sean (2013) and her husband Oscar (2014).
A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) On Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.
