Lucien Richard
Lucien Richard, of Saskatoon, formerly of St. Front, Saskatchewan, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at St. Paul’s Hospital.
He was predeceased by his wife, Claire, his baby granddaughter, Jesse, parents Willie and Laura Richard, and brothers and sisters Raymond, Annette, Laurette, Robert, Maurice, Leo, and Rene.
Lucien is lovingly remembered by his children: daughter Carmelle (Dennis) Prescesky, sons Alain (Dorothy) Richard, Denis (Louise) Richard, Sylvien (Sue) Richard, Jerome (Debbie) Richard; 14 grandchildren: Sean Richard, Shelly (Jim) Jordan, Shari (John) Harden, Lee (Charmae) Richard, Paul (Katherina) Richard, Leon (Anne) Prescesky, Eric (Kasey) Prescesky, Curtis (Danielle) Prescesky, Amie (Matt) Mangan, Lacie Richard, Dylan Richard, Chantelle (Brandon) Richard, Travis (Jill) Richard, Jeremy (Brittany) Richard; 6 great-grandchildren: Nathan, Seth, Garrett, Jesse, Zoey, Colby, and Bentley; sisters Jeanne, Liliane, sister Cecile and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucien was born on September 27, 1922 to Willie and Laura Richard in St. Boniface, Manitoba, and attended school at Kings Court and St. Raymond. In 1938 Lucien and Claire moved to St. Front, Saskatchewan where he was an active member of the Catholic Church. Lucien was also a member of La Caisse Populaire in St. Front and a member of the Hospital Board in Spalding. They moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in July of 1973. Lucien worked for the Catholic School Board and was an active member of St. Martyrs Canadiens, Saskatoon.
Vigil for Lucien will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Sts. Martyrs Canadiens Roman Catholic Church, 1007 Windsor Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, celebrated by Rev. Father Marc Syrenne. The Rite of Committal will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
