Lou had 92 years of a life well lived. He passed away peacefully at Richmond General Hospital with family by his side. Lou was born in Bowden, Alberta but lived most of his life in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia with the last 60 years spent in Richmond. Lou was a devoted only child to his parents, Steve and Rose. He was a loving husband to Joyce for 47 years, and to Alice for 14 years. He was a caring father to Diane (Andy), Lisa (Tim), Steve (Cory), and Neil (Kellie), and later to Erin (Paul). Lou enjoyed being a grandfather to Alexandria (Sean), Sandra, Shannon (Adam), Nataya, Kyle, Travis, Cheyenne, Dakota, and Renzey, and a great-grandfather to Gabriel. One of Lou’s favourite activities was cycling, especially with the Richmond Bicycle Club. In his later years, Lou traveled to Europe and the Maritimes, as well as seeing many other places by cruise ship. He also bowled with a league at Shellmont Lanes well into his 80s. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at 3 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 4451 Williams Rd, Richmond, BC, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lou’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Regional Animal Protection Society. The family would like to thank Dr. S. Howie and caregiver, Theresa, for their care and support of Lou.
