BISSONNETTE, Louis Robert
– Age 73, Port Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully surrounded
by family and friends on Friday, July 13, 2018, in the Strait Richmond
Hospital, Evanston. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Wilfred
Joseph and Catherine Ida “Katie’ (Perrin)
Bissonnette.
Louis worked for the Town of Port Hawkesbury, the Dept. of
Highways, John MacMaster and the construction of Gulf Oil. Louis loved
to play cards and was a true Montreal Canadiens and New York Yankees
fan. For the last 20 years, Louis was known for working with Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Homes, assisting them whenever needed. It was
during this time that he made many, many lifelong friends throughout
Inverness, Victoria, Richmond and Guysborough Counties and even
beyond.
Surviving are his wife, Sadie (Lynk); daughter, Louise
(Bruce), Port Hawkesbury; son, Robbie (Charmaine), Port Hawkesbury;
grandsons, Tyson MacEachern and Jordan Bissonnette; step daughter,
Mary Ann (Sandy); step son, Dan Alex; special friend, Craig MacLean;
sister-in-law, Darlene, Oxford; brother-in-law, Philip, Sydney; as
well as several cousins.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. on Monday and from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville
St. Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday from St.
Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad
Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Cemetery Fund, Strait
Richmond Hospital Foundation or to a charity of one’s
