1921-2018
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of
Lorraine June Rankin, age 96 of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow on
January 10, 2018 in the Manor.
Born in Westville she was a daughter of the late
George and Mina (Hubley) MacNutt.
A longtime resident of Stellarton, Lorraine enjoyed
spending time with family, her shopping outings with Michelle (always
searching for a great bargain) and, being able to remain in her home
until age 92.
She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes
Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by
daughters Diane (Hugh) Perley, Hilden; Debbie Fraser (Peter Ross),
Valley; son Keith (Mary) Rankin, Berwick; dearly loved grandchildren
Cindy Dally, Bruce Perley, Michelle Webb, Melissa O’Neill,
Brent Rankin, and Jeff Rankin; 13 great-grandchildren and 2
great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Mildred Rankin, Dot MacNutt,
and Joyce MacNutt, many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Keith (2004);
sisters Doris Ritcey, Helen Robertson, and Mona Almond; brothers
Vincent, Lindsay, Harland, and Bob
MacNutt.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on
Saturday, January 13, 2018 in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New
Glasgow. A graveside committal service will be held in Our
Lady of Lourdes Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to Glen Haven
Manor or Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic
Church.
Special thanks to her caregivers at Glen Haven Manor,
Sarah MacCulloch and family for always stopping in to see mom, and Pat
MacNaughton for having a hug for mom.
