1930-2017
Lillian Brown passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Rosefield Centre, Innisfail, AB on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the age of 87 years.
Lillian is lovingly remembered by her brother, Bert; her four sons, Brian (Sandy) of Rocky Mountain House, Craig (Pat) of High Level, Dean (Dorothy) of Hinton and Eric (Bonnie) of High Level; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Lillian is predeceased by her parents, Geo & Mary Rogers; son, Arne in 2008; and infant granddaughter, Shelly in 1980. Lillian was born December 4, 1930 in Drumheller, AB to George and Mary Rogers. The family moved to Eckville, AB where they farmed, and she attended school. In 1949, she married Otto Hiitola and had two sons, Arnold born in 1950 and Brian in 1951. The family moved to Green Court and two more sons were born, Craig in 1955 and Dean in 1959. They left the Green Court area after ten years and moved to High Level, AB on a homestead where their fifth son, Eric was born in 1967.
Lillian moved from High Level to Creston, BC and also spent time in Winnipeg and Lethbridge and settled in Red Deer. Lillian’s final four years were spent at the Rosefield Centre in Innisfail, AB.
In keeping with Lillian’s wishes, no Funeral Service will occur. Donations may be made in her memory to Rosefield Centre, 5023 – 42 Street, Innisfail, AB, T4G 1A9 or to C.N.I.B. – Red Deer, 5015 – 48 Street, Red Deer, AB, T4N 1S9.
