FAHLMAN, Lewine Catherine
It is with sadness, but bountiful gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of Lewine Fahlman (February 4, 1923 – April 12, 2018). She is predeceased by her parents Paul and Theresa Ehman; siblings Andrew, Wilfred, Helen, Eileen and Edward. Lewine passed away quickly from pneumonia Thursday night, Wife of Joseph for over 64 years before his passing in 2011. Lewine was the mother of five children Janis (Ken) Sorensen, Jane Fahlman, Joseph Fahlman, Daniel (Patricia) Fahlman and Laurie (Norm) Colhoun. She has 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Our mother was a creative spirit, her hands always busy. Trying to help make ends meet, she was a proficient seamstress and made many of the clothes her children wore. Painting, pottery and knitting among her handicrafts. She had a competitive streak as well, leading a number of curling teams to the playoffs and even winning trophies as skip. She was a card shark too, preferring bridge but skilful at cribbage and other games too. She loved the outdoors and taught us all how to coax fist from Last Mountain Lake from our beloved cottage at Wee Too Beach. She sought solace in her garden, watering and weeding and producing wonderful meals from the produce it provided. Family was always first to Mom. She always planned family gatherings with plenty of food and tons of games. Lewine liked to give back and volunteered her time at the hospitals, caring for patients on the Cancer Wards; adopting several elderly people who could use some support and companionship., She loved to sing and spent years in the choir at her church, Holy Cross. She also gave her time as a member of the CWL. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Holy Cross RC Parish, 315 Douglas Ave. E., Regina, SK with Fr. Ken Koep as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lewine’s memory may be made to Holy Cross RC Parish. Online condolences may be left at www.paragonfuneralservices.com.
