Obituary for
Leonardo Pappani
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Stedman Community Hospice at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Maria Antoinetta for 54 years. Loving father of Angelo (Jennifer Bowen) and Giuseppe “Joe”. Loving Nonno to his pride and joy Bella. Dear brother to Luigi (Nardina ) Pappani, Albina (Antonio) Pucci, Antonio (Elena) Pappani, the late Adalgisa and Mario Palazzo, Dola (Bruno) Di Maddalena, Adelio and the late Concettina Pappani. Brother-in-law of Lucia Anniballi, Michelina (Rocco) Zeppa, the late Biagio and Anna Anniballi, Theresa (Michelle) Di Vizio and Maria (Donato) Zurlo. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Brantford, the Montreal area and Italy. Leonardo was predeceased by Amelita and Giuseppe Corica and Ninetta and Antonio Aquilino.
He was a member of the Rossini Lodge since immigrating to Canada in 1966. He also assisted with the many Spaghetti dinners hosted at St. Mary’s Parish. He was known by many for his warmth, kindness and generosity, always greeting everyone with a smile. He had a heart as big as the sky above and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. On behalf of the entire family, we would like to extend a special thanks to all the volunteers and staff at the Stedman Community Hospice. Their caring and compassion was truly amazing during this difficult time. The family will receive friends at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, Brantford at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum, Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris. In lieu of flowers, donations will be greatly accepted in Leonardo’s name to the St. Joseph’s Lifecare Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
