Leonard Joseph Mellaney January 6 2018

Mellaney, Leonard Joseph – Age 86, Porters Lake, passed away January 6, 2018, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Cornwall, Ont., he was a son of the late Angus and Mary (Campbell) Mellaney.
Len was well-known in the retail grocery industry where he had worked for many years. He had been a member of IOOF Concord Lodge No. 69. For the past year, he had been a resident of Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage. Len was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He will always be missed by wife, Ivy; niece, Cynthia Mellaney; nephew, Eldon (Tamara) Mellaney; sister-in-law, Carolyn Mellaney; stepdaughter, Shannon Weiterman; stepson, Robert (Shelley) Woodgate. He was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis (Martell); brothers, James, John and Hugh.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 11, 2-4 p.m., and funeral service will be Friday, at 11 a.m., both in St. John’s Anglican Church, Westphal, Rev. Tricia Ingram officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Georgetown, P.E.I. No flowers by request. Memorial donations to St. John’s Anglican Church would be appreciated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
