Leonard Joseph Handrahan
1937-2018
The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberrton, on
Sunday, July 8, 2018, with his loving wife and daughter by his side,
of Leonard Joseph Handrahan of Tignish, P.E.I., age 80 years. Beloved
husband to Doreen Mary (nee Doucette) Handrahan. Born at
Ascension, P.E.I., on November 4, 1937, he was the son of the late
Joseph J. and Alice (nee A’ Hearn) Handrahan.
Cherished father to Kelly (Jody) Gallant of Tignish. Loving
grandfather to Andrea, Abbi, and Camden. Dear brother to
Chester (Lena) Handrahan of Ascension, Frances (Brad) LeClair of
Ascension, Marguerite (late Walter) Gavin of Maplewood Manor, Doreen
(Frank) Tucker of St. Catherines, Ont.
He is also survived by sisters and brother-in-law, Inez
Handrahan, of Tignish, Gloria LeClair of Tignish, Marie (Clarence)
Gaudet of St. Catherines, Ont.
He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and
friends.
He was predeceased by siblings, James (late Ida), Edgar, Sr.
Geraldine CND, Hilda (late Bill) Karkus, Theresa (late Ted) Wosley,
Esther (late Fred) Harper, Mable (late Lorne) Smith, Hubert and Levi
(late Helen).
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel, Alberton
for visiting hours Tuesday, 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral
Wednesday afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church,Tignish for
funeral mass at 2:00 p.m., Rev. John Molina, celebrant. Interment in
the church cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy memorials to St. Simon and St.
Jude Restoration Fund or to St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery Fund would
be gratefully appreciated by the family.
