1927 – 2018
Leona Exelda (Cormier) Ogilvie, widow of the late Raymond “Ray” Ogilvie of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home passed away at her late residence on July 18, 2018 at the age of 91.
Born in Lewisville, NB on June 15, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Albou and Azelie Cormier. She was part owner along with her husband of Germaine & Camille Restaurant in Chatham. She managed the kitchens and cooked at James M. Hill High School, Miramichi Senior Citizens Home and the Woodstock General Hospital. She was involved in many clubs, the Lion’s, Golf, Curling and Bridge. She was a member of St. Michael’s Basilica.
Leona is survived by her daughter Ann Duplessie (Edward); daughter-in-law Lynn Ogilvie and special friend Donna Chiasson all of Miramichi; six grandchildren Christopher (Pam), Todd (Jenn), Tara (Adam), Kyle (Jayne), Steven, Tanis (Dean); eleven great-grandchildren Daryn, Ethan, Drew, Alice, Oliver, Eloise, Noah, Cale, Lilah, Cohen and Lily. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Ray Ogilvie, son Billy Ogilvie, two sisters Florida Landry and Ann Marie (Mary) Pothof, four brothers Albany, Henry, Euclide and Tony Cormier.
Visitation will be held from Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michael’s Basilica on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11 am with Father John Keoughan as Celebrant. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
