Lee Jean Nesbitt May 28th 2018

Lee Jean Nesbitt passed away early on May 28, 2018.
Lee was born in Castlegar, BC as Shelley Jean Banigan. She grew up in Castlegar, Robson, Grand Forks and Vancouver. She moved to Salmon Arm and ran a daycare center. She then moved to Castlegar and while attending Selkirk College she received a Social Services Certificate, a Human Services Diploma plus a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria.
She was predeceased by her father Walter John Banigan, her mother Patrica Fay Davies and her step-father Bruce Nesbitt. She has left behind an older brother Tyhson Banighen, a younger brother Niki Banigan and a younger sister Tracy Stauffer and lots of friends.
Lee was a loyal friend; full of life and a joy to be with. She loved children and animals and had a special affection for sidewalk chalk and blowing bubbles. Her Yarns and Yatter group was very important to her. She worked diligently as a volunteer for a number of organizations including the Career Development Center and spent countless hours painting craft items in the Center’s workshop. However it was her last volunteer position, that of lead coffee maker and hostess for the Adult Drop in at Trail Alliance Church, which she claimed as her favorite.
A Celebration of Lee’s Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Sanctuary, 1705 Bay Avenue in Trail. The gathering will be led by Rev. Ken Siemens and is open to all of Lee’s many friends.
Those who would like to make a donation in Lee’s memory are encouraged to direct their gift to Sanctuary.
