Obituary of L. Margaret Tansley
TANSLEY, L. Margaret (Lacey) – Passed away peacefully, on Monday, November 12, 2018, at St. Joseph’s at Fleming, at age 98. Graduate of Victoria College (43), Toronto and the Ontario College of Education (44), with a specialty in the Arts. Wife of the late Reverend Donald Tansley. Dear mother of Judith (David Russ) of Peterborough. Loving grandmother of David McCartney (Heather) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Stephen McCartney (Anita) of Calgary, Alberta and great grandmother of Maria, Pano, Niko, Seamus and Kiera. Sister of Barbara Scott, of Peterborough, Pat Love of Ottawa and the late David Lacey (surviving wife Kay) of California, and Howard Lacey. Margaret taught High School Art, Latin, French, English, History and Geography. Her career included teaching at schools in Nipigon, Brantford, Lakefield and Oshawa.
A Memorial Service will be held at Northminster United Church, 300 Sunset Blvd., Peterborough, on Saturday, November 17th at 1:30 pm, followed by a reception in the church hall. Rev. Linda Hodgins officiating. Condolences to the family, directions to the Church and donations (in lieu of flowers) to the United Church of Canada Mission and Service Fund or a children’s charity of your choice may be made at www.CommunityAlternative.ca.
