Obituary for
Kenneth Harry Scott
It is with great sadness that the family of Kenneth Harry Scott announces his passing at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on December 10, 2018, at age 79. Born in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia on June 6,1939 he was a son of the late Harry and Lila (Killen) Scott. Ken was a true family man. He worked hard to provide for his family and had a deep love for his children and grand-children. He was kind, thoughtful and loving, and was well-known for his joking and teasing. He was a wonderful storyteller and would often make up songs to amuse his children and grand-children. He made a lasting impression on so many people throughout his life and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, helpful fatherly advice, and simply for being a very genuine person. He had a life-long passion for dogs, especially boxers. He cared deeply about them, and his treatment toward his beloved dogs, especially Chloe, is one of the ways that best showed what a kind-hearted and compassionate man he really was. Ken worked at finance institutions and sales and then owned and operated Scott’s Family Restaurant. He had a passion for and loved food, was witty and had great sense of humor. He loved to tease, the more he liked you the more he teased you. He is survived by his wife, Emily (Saulnier); daughters, Anita (Trevor Coffrin) Scott, Hammonds Plains; Dana (Randy) Belliveau, East Pubnico; son, Chris (Jennifer)Scott, Plymouth; grandchildren, Alex, Heidi, Luke, Dylan, Paige and Jordynn. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Shirley Zinck and Evelyn Shand. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be a Celebration of Life for Kenneth, Sunday, December 16,2018 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA or The Salvation Army, Yarmouth. A special thank you to the staff of the Yarmouth Paramedic team, EHS Danny Deveau, Dr’s. Tom Muise and Tom Baxter as well as the girls from the Yarmouth/Argyle Home Support. On-line condolences may be sent to: sweenysfh@eastlink.ca or you may sign the guestbook on-line at: www.sweenysfuneralhome.net. He will truly be missed, as he holds a special place in the heart of so many of his family and friends.
