Obituary of Kathleen Bissett
Bissett, Kathleen Isabel “Kay” (nee Shute)
Passed away peacefully in her sleep, into the waiting arms of her Saviour, on Monday, May 21st, 2018, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of Harold Edwin Bissett (1973). Loving mother of Heather (Tony) Steigvilas, and David (Kathy) Bissett. Grandmother of Paul (Alia) Bissett, Vytas Steigvilas, and Stefa (Brian) Pynn, and great-grandmother of Caroline, Story, Kaylee, and Kelsie. Daughter of James Fuller Shute and Martha Shute (nee Skinner), and sister of Betty Shute and Doreen Gravlin. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. She was a proud veteran of the RCAF Women’s Division serving during the Second World War. She was also Faithful member of the Six Nations 7th Day Adventist Church. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. A Memorial Service will follow on Tuesday, May 29th at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Kathleen’s family would like to thank the staff of the Brantford General Hospital C4 Unit, the Fracture Clinic at the BGH, and the Riverview Terrace staff for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Six Nations Seventh Day Adventist Church, or the Brantford Blessing Centre would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Kathleen in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
