Kathleen Frances Dicks
1927-2018
Kathleen Frances
Dicks
(née
Quinlan)
January 5, 1927 –
March 30, 2018
Beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Good
Friday, March 30, 2018. Left to celebrate her life are her loving
children: Paul (Jennifer) Dicks, Clarissa (Roger) Carter, and Kathy
(Darrell) March; her adored grandchildren: Ainsley (Andrew) Hawthorn,
Christian (Erin) Dicks, Sarah Carter, Ian March (Afton Vadacchino),
Aislinn Dicks, Katie Dicks, and Brett Dicks; and her beloved niece
Mary Fleming. Predeceased by her husband Augustine (1976) and her
infant daughter Mary Margaret (1952), Kay was the last remaining of
her seven Quinlan brothers and sisters and the second last remaining
aunt on the Dicks side. We will remember her as fiercely
independent, fearless, strong and devoted to her family and
friends. Her stay and support in her final years were her
dear friends Bren and Anne Dicks, Gertie and Don Dicesare, Betty
Hackett, and Dr. Karumpuzha Hema. She will also be missed by a wide
circle of extended family, friends and neighbours. Visitation will
take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, on
Tuesday, April 3, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be
held on Wednesday, April 4, at 10:00 am from the Cathedral of the Holy
Redeemer on Mount Bernard Avenue, with interment to follow at Mount
Patricia Receiving Chapel, Father Edward Terry officiating. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Western Regional Hospital
Foundation, the hospital where Kay worked for many years. The
family guest book may be signed by visiting
