It is with heavy hearts, the family of Joyce Bernice Stacey, wife of John Vernon Stacey, announces her passing which occurred on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Upham, NB on March 31, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy M. (MacDonald) Quinn. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Myles McLean.
Joyce was a member of the Orchid Society, she enjoyed gardening, bowling and playing the bag pipes, but family was most important to her. Always remembered, cherished and forever in our hearts.
In addition her loving husband of 71 years, John, she is survived by her children Sharon Stacey of Saint John, Shelly Campbell (Rick) of Hampton, Terry Stacey (Nancy) of Saint John and Scott Stacey (Catherine) of Saint John; her sister Nancy Eliassen (Stefen) of Saint John; cherished grandchildren Crystal, Marla, Craig, Ashley, Kyle, Jenna, Atticus, Odin, Laughlin and Brent; 13 great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Thursday, May 31 from 2 to 7 pm. A memorial service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 1 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Joyce may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
