Joseph Vincent Paul, age 58 of Eskasoni, passed away December 8, 2018 in Eskasoni.
He was the son of the late Simon and Gladys Googoo and raised by his grandmother Nancy Paul.
He was a member of Holy Family parish. His greatest joy was being a father to his daughter Natasha and grandfather to Ava, Jaida and Kiana. Family was most important to him. He worked hard as a janitor for the school board all year so he could enjoy the holidays with his family in Ottawa. He was proud of his culture and heritage and enjoyed a good political debate with his friends.
Joseph is survived by his daughters Natasha (Ace) Kakepetum and Rochelle Meekis; grandchildren Ava, Jaida and Kiana ; godchildren Maya Oakley and Justin Dennis; sisters Beverly Googoo, Nancy (Jim) Martin, Carol Googoo, all of Waycobah; Marjorie Pierro, Wagmatcook, Charlene Googoo, Waycobah; Monica Paul and Barbara Denny of Eskasoni and brother Charles Googoo of Waycobah.
He was predeceased by his parents and several siblings.
Visitation will begin after 7 pm on Saturday at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in Holy Family parish cemetery.
