1926-2018
The peaceful passing of Joseph Patric Despres occurred Sunday, May 20,
2018 at his home.
Born in Rogersville, NB he was the son of the late Sylvester and
Elizabeth (Finnigan) Despres.
Pat lived life to the fullest, he was the glue that held his family
together. He had many loves the first being his wife, best friend and
soul mate, Lorraine. Pat was a great story teller and jokester,
despite being in a wheel chair for 60 years. He could sew, repaired
watches, loved to build and experiment with electrical. He loved his
bingo and scratch tickets. In his earlier years, Pat was employed
with Nichol’s Coal Mines then enlisted into the Royal Canadian
Army bringing him to several locations around the world, he was a WWII
and Korean war vet, the last vet in the Minto area.
Survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth Lorraine (Gautreau)
Despres; brother, Ferdinand (Madeline) of Gatineau, PQ; sisters,
Bernice LaPointe (Roland) of Minto, NB and Lorraine LeBlanc of
Chipman, NB; many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Pat was predeceased by brothers, Alex,
William, Adolph and Clifford; sisters, Bertha Gibbons, Rita Timpani,
Irene Roy and Dianne Thibodeau.
Resting at Hogg Funeral Services (10 King Street, Minto) with visiting
on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated
11:00AM Thursday, May 24, 2018 from Holy Rosary Catholic Church. For
those who wish, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be
appreciated by the family. A reception will follow in the Royal
Canadian Branch # 12 Minto.
