Obituary for Joseph “Joe” Collingwood
COLLINGWOOD: Jan. 4, 1949 – Sept. 1, 2018. Joseph Floyd (Joe) Collingwood passed away at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, MB at the age of 69 years. He will be especially remembered by his sister, Joanne, brother-in-law Rick, his much loved niece Celine and her family and a special aunt, Hazel, in Calgary, Alberta. Joe worked for many years in Shilo and then after retirement, he worked at St. George’s Anglican Church in Brandon. He was so grateful for the love and support he received from his church family. Joe had a kind heart and a willingness to help others. He volunteered his time at various charities in Brandon in addition to timekeeping at many minor hockey games and tournaments. Joe was a huge Wheat Kings fan. Many happy times were spent with Celine over the years. When she was in school, the two would sit at the kitchen table and play games. Joe also had a compassion for animals. When working at Shilo, he had a favourite deer that he would hand feed at noon. Because he so loved animals, especially dogs, donations in memory of Joe may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6. Funeral service plans are pending. Arrangements are in care of Brockie Donovan Funeral & Cremation Services, Brandon, MB, (204) 727-0694. God be with you Joe “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
