Obituary for
John Roshko
On May 17, 2018, our beloved Husband, Father, Dido, Great-Dido, John Roshko of Smoky Lake, AB, passed away after a short battle with cancer at the age of 81 years.
John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth; sons, Michael (Cindy), Steven (Elaine) and Kevin (Unique); seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Allyson (Ian Kushnir), Katelyn (Kyle Croxford), Madison, Taylor, Logan and Jaxon Roshko; three great-grandchildren, Presley, Benji and Charlie; three stepchildren, Alisha, Krista and Dustin; six step grandchildren, Blake, Kaden, Brady, Rylee, Toree and Jaxon; brother, Wesley (Wendy); brother-in-law, Dennis Sawchuk; and numerous relatives, friends, former students and church families. He was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Katie Roshko; sister, Marion Sawchuk and Dido Steve Martyniuk.
Prayer Service Tuesday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ukrainian National Hall, 107 Willow Street, Smoky Lake.
Funeral Rite Wednesday, May 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 3 White Earth Street, Smoky Lake. Reverend Father Benny Ambrosie officiating with interment in the Church Cemetery. Donations gratefully accepted to Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Box 357, Smoky Lake, AB T0A 3C0.
