John Phillip Hughes, of South Esk, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 58.
Born in Digby, NS, he was the son of the late John and Shirley (Decoste) Hughes. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Corrections Canada.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Patricia (Hooper) Hughes of South Esk; two daughters Wendy (Kevin Vandine) of South Esk and Stephanie (Joshua Sherrard) of Sunny Corner; three sons John (Crystal) of For MacMurray, Ben (Jen) of South Esk, and Matthew (Danielle) of Moncton; one brother Michael (Joanne) of Rothsay; eight grandchildren John Edward, Tony, and Taya Hughes, Rylie and Jared Vandine, Rachael and Ethan Sherrard, and Avery Hughes; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by two sisters Holly and Joanne.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend the memorial service on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 11 am, from Northumberland Funeral Home Chapel.
In memory of John, donations may be made to a memorial of one’s choice.
