John Paul “J.P.” Barribeau
1977-2018
Barribeau, John Paul “J.P.”
March 7, 1977-December 13, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of John Paul “J.P.”
Barribeau announces his sudden passing, on the evening of Thursday,
December 13th, 2018, at the age of 41 years.
J.P. will be lovingly remembered by his parents John and Lorraine
Barribeau, sister Kimberley and his nephew John Connor. His first love
and mother of his children Joanne Lahey and their daughters Shanna,
Sheridan and Shea Lynn and by his girlfriend Sonya Grover. J.P. will
also be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
in Cambridge, Newfoundland and Wisconsin, especially his aunt Roz and
uncle Tim and by the entire Lahey family.
In this life, J.P. touched our hearts by appreciating the simple
things. He embraced each day with determination and joy. From fishing
with his daughters and nephews, cooking while laughing, overcoming
challenges and comforting those who needed his strength. He found good
in everyone who crossed his path. We pray J.P. will remain blessed and
as fulfilled as those who walked through this world with him.
We will remember J.P. for his zest for life, his humour and his
ability to make others happy with his contagious smile. He was a free
spirited young man who was taken from us too soon. He enjoyed being
outdoors with nature as well as attending concerts, parties and
celebrating holidays with his family. He was a devoted son, brother,
uncle, nephew, cousin, true love, friend and most of all father.
He was a hard worker and worked for many years as a welder and
construction worker. J.P. was passionate about the well being of all
animals. He loved all genres of music and would sing and dance every
chance he got.
Above all, J.P. loved his three daughters more than anyone or anything
in the world. He adored each one of them equally and he will live on
through his children. He told them how much he loved them every time
they were together. Hugs and kisses and saying “I love you”
came easy for J.P. because he was a genuine and goodhearted man.
All of our love and thanks to you J.P.. We will cherish your memory
until we meet again in heaven.
A visitation to celebrate the life of J.P. will be held on Wednesday,
December 19th, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Corbett Funeral Home, 95
Dundas Street N, in Cambridge.
Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of J.P.
would be asked to donate to the charity of your choice.

Death notice for the town of: Cambridge, Province: Ontario
I have many fond memories of JP and Kimmy from my childhood. It’s been many years since I’ve seen JP but I have not forgotten him and the fun we had as children. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. He was far too young. My heart goes out to all of you….
