John Napier Russell April 28 1947 – March 21 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our brother and uncle John at the age of 70.
Born in Hamilton Scotland, he immigrated to Canada in 1953 with his parents and younger sister, settling in Victoria, BC.
John worked as a custodian for many years at University Heights Shopping Mall. He loved his job and the people around him. Ill health may have hindered him in recent years, but he never lost his great sense of humour. John was never short on words, could always make us laugh and had a huge heart.
Twenty-two years ago he conquered his demon and he lived his life quietly and contentedly ever since. We were so very proud of him.
He is pre-deceased by his father David (1970), mother Jeanie Flindell (1991) and step-father Len Flindell (1997). He will be dearly missed by his sister Edith Wilson (Craig), niece Stephanie Goodwin-Bisson, great-niece Piper Bisson and his good friend Tom Devlin.
No service by request. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
RIP, big brother.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
