Lovingly Remembered
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Lakatos on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the age of 87 years.
John was born in Montreal, moved to Drumheller, AB at a very young age, then moved to Calgary, AB working as a plasterer, and commuting back to Drumheller to meet friends, and where he also met his wife Anne. John and Anne Married in Calgary, AB and had two children. John became a very successful business owner operating Bighorn Drywall & Stucco, retiring in his mid-forties. John then decided to venture into owning land in Rolling Hills, AB for a few years, then finding retirement to boring, he spent his time working alongside with his son in his small business Bighorn Taxidermy. John was a very avid hunter taking numerous hunting trips, enjoying life to the fullest. John was a kind, gentle and loving man, always enjoying a good time and being surrounded by people. John’s true happiness was for love of his family, as that is what mattered most to him.
John is survived by his wife Anne, daughter Heather Lakatos, son-in-law Steve Slot and numerous family members. John was predeceased by his son Wayne Lakatos. He will be dearly missed, and never forgotten.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, (Prairie View Chapel, 1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of your choice. To express condolences, please visit: www.mountainviewmemorial.ca.
