John Joseph Charles Dicey August 23 1929 November 18 2018 (age 89)

John was born in Tottenham, England. He attended grammar school during WWII and then went on to national service in the RAF (Air/Sea Rescue), and then the 21st SAS (Artist Rifles), before going to work for Shell in London.
In 1953 he married Nancy Moore in Chelsea, London before emigrating to Calgary in August of 1957, with their son Jonathan and daughter Patricia. Their sons James and Mark were both born in Calgary.
John worked in the insurance industry for Manufacturer’s Life, Equitable Life, Guardian Life, and Zurich Life before opening his own brokerage in 1979, Lakeview Insurance. He helped to start rugby in Calgary in 1958 and the Calgary Canoe Club, and cross-country skiing with the family in 1967 with the Foothill’s Nordic Ski Club. John was a member of the Saracen’s Rugby F.C., RAUSI, the Royal Canadian Legion, PROBUS, and Special Forces Club.
John spent 65 wonderful years with Nancy. He leaves four children; five grandchildren; and one great grandson. The family wish to thank the Alberta Health Services Home Care/Palliative Care, The Rockyview General Hospital, and the Sarcee Hospice for their excellent care.
