John “Jack” Thomas Brown
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Jack Brown, 69 years, on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Dear son of the late Ken and Faye Brown of Sudbury and stepson to Rose Brown. Beloved father of Laura Faye Brown (Jaime) of Toronto. Loving companion to Linda Bot. Dearly loved brother of Jo-Ann Evoy (Lynn) of Vancouver, B.C., James (Wendy) of Sudbury, and Janice Tourigny (Terry predeceased) of North Bay. Jack will be sadly missed by nephews Jim Evoy (Debby) Kelowna, B.C. and John Evoy (Randi) of Cloverdale, B.C., Stephen Brown of Brampton, niece Jennifer Onstein (Peter) of Iroquois and nephews Lee and Matthew Tourigny of North Bay, as well as his business partner and friend Michel Clement, and his extended family and friends.
Jack started his restaurant career in Sudbury with Casey’s in 1983. In 1997 he became independent and opened Buzzy Brown’s Brasserie. He will be fondly remembered by his staff and many guests, friends and family for his kind gentle nature, generosity, sense of style and good sense of humour.
Jack had a great love for his dogs throughout his life. He was also an avid gardener, sportsman and fisherman.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses in palliative care at HSN, especially Tanya, Crystal, Tammy and Sherry for their warm and compassionate care. In keeping with Jack’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for Jack is to be held at Buzzy Brown’s, date to be announced. Donations to the Sudbury S.P.C.A. , Pet Save or your charity of choice will be gratefully acknowledged by Jack’s family. Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Services.
