Peacefully at MacLeod Care South Shore Villa, Crapaud,
surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018, veteran
of WW 11, of John H. MacKay, formerly of Albany, age 94
years. Loving husband of 71 years to Roma (nee Howatt)
MacKay. Loving father of Harleigh (Susan) and Dennis
(predeceased). Grampy to Andrew (Robyn) MacKay and
Barbie (Shaun) Larkin. Great grampy to Thatcher, Everleigh,
Elliott Mac Kay and Shealyn Larkin. Survived by
sister Lois Thurgood, brothers and sisters in law Sheldon
and Marion Howatt, Ferne MacLeod, Jack and Imogene MacDonald, and
numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents former
Lt. Gov. Hon. J. George and Muriel MacKay , brother Sutherland,
sisters Audrey Muttart and Phyllis (in infancy),
brothers and sisters in law Charlie Thurgood, Colin Waugh,
George Muttart, Alister MacLeod, and Harleigh and Camella
Howatt. Resting at the Dawson Funeral Home, Crapaud, with
visitation Friday, 4 – 7 p.m. Borden Legion members will
hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home at 7:00.
Funeral service Saturday, Sept. 8th, from South Shore United
Church, Tryon at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Tryon
Peoples’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to Royal
Canadian Legion Borden Branch # 10 or PCH Foundation would be
appreciated. Please refrain from scents due to allergies.
