John Dublin April 19 2018

John passed away peacefully at age 77 at Grandview Capital Care in Edmonton on April 19, 2018.
John was born in Leiden Netherlands during the occupation in WWII, immigrating to Canada with his family in 1951: siblings Arthur, Craig, Wilma, Irene, Johanna, Mary and Margaret.
John worked for Environment Canada as a meteorologist for his career in different centers across Canada: Edmonton, Regina, Fredericton, and Greenwood, NS.
John married Sharon Foster in 1969, and his family grew to include two children and four grandchildren. John & Sharon divorced in 2006.
He later remarried Elaine Rennich in 2009 who predeceased him in 2015.
John is survived by his son Ian (Gillian) and grandchildren Adam, Laura and James of Ottawa, and daughter Kimberly (Bryce) and grandson Evan of Edmonton.
Always happy to pitch in and lend a hand to family and friends, had a sharp mind (especially trivia and current events), and always enjoyed a good joke. John will be missed.
A visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Service North Central location, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Ave, Edmonton on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life for John at 2:00 p.m.
Donations can be made directly to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
