It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of John Chiki at Rapelje Lodge on Sunday December 9, 2018 in his 92nd year. John was born in Welland on January 16, 1927. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ivy Speight (1985) and is survived by his loving wife Geraldine. Beloved father of Sandra (Paul Smelsky) and Brian Chiki (Andrea). Treasured grandfather of Tamara (Mike Melito), Nicholas Smelsky, Kyle Chiki and Kara (Nik Goldenthal). Cherished great-grandfather of Emma, Michael, and Torsten Melito. Dear stepfather to David Sourwine (Jason and Kris), Dean Sourwine (Darryl and Leah) Robin and Craig Zavitz (Sommer and Tayler). Special thanks to the caring staff at Rapelje Lodge. The memorial service to honour John’s life will be held at the JAMES L. PEDLAR FUNERAL HOME, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Saturday, December 15th beginning at 2:00 pm. A private family internment will take place at Fonthill Cemetery on a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to Rapelje Lodge or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
