Johanna Nolte Menzel 1932 2018

Obituary for
Johanna Nolte (Menzel)
Nolte, Johanna (1932-2018)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Johanna Nolte on July 11, 2018. Johanna is deeply missed by her beloved husband Fred, to whom she was married for over 65 years. She was deeply loved by daughters Mary-Lou (Doug Menard) and Barbara (Adaire Fry), and grandchildren Michael and Laura Fry. It is comforting to know that Johanna is now reunited with Barbara, whose passing in 2017 saddened her immeasurably. Johanna’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. Her selflessness, resilience, indomitable spirit and joy of life were inspiring. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbour, a master gardener, and active adventurer, experiencing life to the fullest. Johanna’s truly remarkable approach to life has had a profound impact on the lives of others, and will continue to influence how we live ours.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Saturday, July 21, 2018, where a service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m., . Interment Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener. A special thank you to Dr. Mario Valdes and the teams at the Grand River Hospital inpatient oncology unit and the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre for their compassionate care. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Lung Cancer Canada or to the Grand River Hospital Foundation – Oncology Program would be appreciated by the family.
