Obituary of Joan Tarso – Glace Bay
It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a wonderful and sincere woman; a loving mother, grandmother, sister, companion, aunt and friend. Joan, age 69, passed away with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018, in the Intensive Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Faustena (Gaigneur) Tarso and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Reserve Mines.
Mom was a very kind-hearted person and will mainly be remembered for her times spent with her loving family and friends: she was a true family woman who would grasp every opportunity life offered her to have fun and enjoyment.
She is survived by her loving daughters Terri O ‘Regan, Krystal Martin, both of Glace Bay; sisters Lorraine Hussey, Donna Marie (Alex) Fraser, both of Reserve Mines; two cherished grandsons, Anthony Martin, Tyson MacPherson and her companion Stanley White of New Waterford. She will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and her ex-husband, Jake O’Regan.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by four children; Joseph in infancy; Rayden, Lisa and Joseph in a tragic house fire and her twin sister Judy also in infancy.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V. J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, in Glace Bay.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018, in St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Dan Boudreau officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
