Joan passed away peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital on July 18, 2018 at the age of 81. She is survived by her loving husband Harry Schimm; daughters: Donna Schimm and Lori O’Rorke; son Rob Schimm; grandchildren: Jillian and Sean-Rei; sister Zelda Wilson and her mother Anne Meier. Predeceased by her father Richard Meier. The family extends its sincere thanks to all the staff at KGH who were involved in Joan’s care. Special thanks to Rick Harvey-Smith for all of his support in assisting Joan in maintaining her independence at home for as long as possible.
