Joan Fowler 1941 2018 (age 77)

Joan Fowler of Fort Macleod passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2018, at the age of 77 years.
Joan is survived by her daughter Karen Charlton, her son Bruce Fowler, her sisters Kay Kruse and Mary Nicuches, her brothers Jack Cullen and Sig Baustad, and her grandchildren Amanda Charlton, Aaron Charlton, and Andrew Charlton. Joan was predeceased by her parents Bill and Ivy Cullen, her birthparents John and Eva Chudek, her brothers Carl Chudek, Paul Chudek, John Chudek, Roy Chudek, and George Chudek, and her sisters Ann Kuzyk, Adelle Kurach, and Helen Murphy.
Joan was born in Richmond Park, Alberta, to John and Eva Chudek. At a young age, she was adopted by Bill and Ivy Cullen. Joan grew up in Fort Macleod, going to school and playing baseball, which was one sport that she loved. She married Jack Fowler and resided on the family farm. They adopted two children, Bruce and Karen. When the children were older Joan worked at Scougalls RV Centre, detailing motor homes, trailers and vehicles. Sadly, the marriage ended in divorce when the children finished school. Joan continued working at Scougalls until the work became too much for her. She then worked various odd jobs until her retirement.
Joan was happy to meet her birth family after her marriage and kept in touch with a few of them, especially Kay and Adelle. Her joy in life was her grandchildren. She was diagnosed with lung and advanced bone cancer in November of 2018. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Rest in peace mom.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joan Fowler 1941 2018 (age 77)..
