Obituary of Jean McIntyre
McINTYRE, Jean Louise – At St. Joseph’s Hospice on Friday, July 13, 2018, Jean McIntyre, of Sarnia, died at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Wilfred Ignatius McIntyre (2003) and loving companion of Bob Steele. Loving mother of Jean Riberdy and her husband Allan MacDonald, Corunna, Anne McIntyre Lacroix and her husband Gabe, Sarnia, and Wilfred McIntyre, Sarnia. Dear nanny of Brian and Branden Riberdy, Sheena, Jordan, and Brittany Lacroix, Jessica McIntyre, Emily VanAlstine, Shane & Conor Davis and Dennis MacDonald. Great nanny of Hailee, Nolan, Logan, Spencer, Sebastian and Hailey. Dear sister of Paul McLean, Judy McIntyre (Mike) and Mary Ford. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Florence McLean, siblings; Thomas, Peter, Albert, David, Wayne and Jack McLean and Peggy McIntyre and Carol Walsh. Also predeceased by her dear friend & sister-in-law Nenita McLean (2018). Jean was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church and a member of the St. Joseph’s CWL for over 40 years. She worked at Sarnia General Hospital in housekeeping and as a custodian for the Public School Board spending most of her time at Alexander McKenzie School. Jean was a phenomenal baker and she loved to make everyone pies. A mother to everyone, she was the centre of hers and many other families, always giving to others before herself. Jean loved to travel by car, especially back to her first home and love Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday, July 19th at 12:00 p.m. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
