Jean Paul Clermont 2018

CLERMONT, John – It is with deep sadness that we announce John’s passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Sunday, January 7, 2018. John worked in the mines for 33 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and his woodstove. He loved going in the bush for firewood. He will be remembered for reading Auto Trader magazines and watching antique car auctions on T.V. On September 20, 1971, John received recognition from the Royal Canadian Humane Association, Honorary Testimonial Heroism for rescuing five sisters of religious order from drowning in Gull Lake. John was very kind hearted and loved to have fun. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need, especially his family. Predeceased by his parents Annette and Henri Clermont, his brother Edward Clermont and step son Kelvin Portelance. John will be missed by his beloved wife Linda Briscoe Portelance, Connie Grenier, John and Angel Clermont, Melody and Charles Briscoe, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; his step children Cindy Portelance (Brian), André Portelance (Lisa Batisse), Paul Portelance (Pam Lacroix), 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his sisters Aline and Gene Montigny, Marie Jean and Tom Lombardy as well as his best friend, his toy poodle Rosie.
