Obituary for
Jean Lillian Campbell (Buterin)
Jean L. Campbell (née Buterin) passed away peacefully on October 27th, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at the age of 84. She was born in Port Arthur on December 5th, 1933. Jean is survived by Ken, her husband of 65 years, son, Kenton of Rainy River, her brother, Gordon Buterin, and her two grandchildren, Ashlyn of Calgary and Keifer of Thunder Bay. Years ago, Jean worked for Traders Finance as Chief Accountant before becoming a loving homemaker and stay at home Mom. Jean always kept herself busy. Between the church community, the choir, the North End Rec Centre, and her grandchildren, she was always helping out in some way. She was the past president and also volunteered with the St. Margaret’s CWL at countless events, from making sandwiches, baking treats, cleaning the linens, and lending a hand where needed. Jean had many memories and stories that she would share about all the friendships she’d made. She also loved to share stories of her countless trips to Fort Frances to babysit, bake, and have fun with her grandchildren. Jean will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place and funeral services and luncheon will be held at St. Margaret’s Church, 88 Clayte St., on Thursday, November 1st at 11 o’clock with service by Father Ciaran Donnelly. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation are welcomed.
