It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Jean Swift, on November 4, 2018 at Wauklehegan Manor in McAdam, NB. Mom was born on October 6, 1934 in McAdam; the youngest of four daughters born to Harry and Thelma Short.
Mom is survived by her four children: Sheri and her husband Brian of Ivy Lea, ON., Michael and his wife Anne of Sus, NB, Thom and his wife Wendy of Halifax, NS, and Ron and his wife Shelley of Fredericton, NB. Mom loved her grandchildren, David Gaudet and his wife Laura of Vancouver, Erin Gaudet of Vancouver, Katie Swift and her husband Holger of Toronto, Colin Swift of Sus, Dawson Swift and Taylor and Jorja Thomas of Halifax, Amie Johnston and her husband Bradley of Petawawa, and Matthew Swift of Kingston. Mom also loved her great-grandchildren Wynn and George Gaudet, Frankie Swift, and Elynn, Wesley and Griffin Johnston. She is also survived by her sister Helen Beers and her husband Hollis of Vanceboro, ME and her brother-in-law Claude Piercy of McAdam.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Ronald Swift and her sisters Gyda Corbett and Phyllis Piercy.
A reception in Mom’s honor will be held at the Lions’ Club in McAdam on Saturday, November 10, 2018 between 2 and 4 PM. There will be no funeral service or visitation held.
Donations in her memory can be made to Wauklehegan Manor in McAdam, Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca
Our family would like to thank the staff at the Manor for their love, kindness and special care provided to our Mom during her residency there.
