Janet Carrie Jenks 2018

OBITUARY
Janet Carrie Jenks
March 22, 1936 – October 14, 2018
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Janet, our beloved mom, sister and grandmother.
She is survived by her children Len Jenks, Cindi (Allan) Loucks and Ross Jenks, three grandchildren John and Charles Loucks and Jonathon Jenks. She was predeceased by her parents, Ken and Sadie Olson and two brothers K. David Olson and Thomas Olson. Also left to remember her are sisters Alice, Judi and Rosemary and brothers, George and Richard and many family members and friends.
Mom was born in Tchesinkut Lake, BC, raised on a homestead with her seven brothers and sisters. Her mom’s mother taught at the one-room schoolhouse, which inspired mom into a career of teaching. She was a substitute teacher in Richmond, BC and Len was in one of her classes.
Later in life she was a supervisor in Langley Homemaker Services Society and retired at the age of 62.
She proudly cared for Jonathon Jenks from an infant and he will live in her home until Grade 12 graduation June 2019.
Thank you to the exceptional nurses in the ICU at Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their loving, compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Memorial Boal Chapel, North Vancouver November 17, 2018 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at a charity of your choice.
