Janet Biskey 2018

Mrs. Janet Biskey
Peacefully, on July 18th, 2018, in the comforting care of the Chatham-Kent Hospice and with her family by her side, Janet Biskey (Wellwood) was given the gift of being reunited with her loving husband Gord who passed away suddenly last year. She will be surrounded by the circle of love by her parents Carmen (O’Rourke) and Edwin Wellwood, her sister Virginia and brother Bill who predeceased her. Janet was an incredibly proud mom of three devoted sons, Mike (Karen), Brian (Rita) and Jim (Laura) and a treasured grandma to David, Laura, Jonathan, Trevor, Troy, Max, Jack and Sam. She was adored by her sister Marion and her brother Jim. With friends too many to count, Janet will be sadly missed by all of them. She was born August 7th, 1938 and grew up in Merlin, Ontario where she found her love of horses and being outdoors. Janet was happiest when she was with her boys and their families sharing with love, laughter and tears every milestone in their lives. She spoke often and would laugh as she recalled the fun she and the “office girls” had at work in the medical records department of the former St. Joseph’s Hospital. Janet retired after 25 years of dedicated service. The Biskey family holds a very special place in their hearts for all of Janet’s caregivers over the past few years. Thank you Jeral Lumley for your tender care and companionship. Thank you, Dr. Denys and his healthcare team, for your excellence in attention to Janet’s wellbeing and for arranging her stay at the Chatham-Kent Hospice. Thank you, Eden Villa staff, for keeping Janet safe and loved. Thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for your passionate care during Janet’s time there. Thank you, Dr. Mayo, staff and volunteers, at the Chatham-Kent Hospice for guiding our family along this difficult journey of accepting the loss of our mom, mother-in-law, grandma, sister, sister-in-law and aunt. You gave peace, comfort and dignity to her in her final days and treated all of us as if we were part of your own families. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Friday July 20th with visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday July 21st at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 52 Croydon St Chatham, with celebrant Father Don Pumputis. Cremation to follow with interment to take place at a later date.
